With this draft decision, minister Fientje Moerman wishes to address a number of practical obstacles which hamper the effectiveness of the 'VIS' decision. The 'VIS' decision regulates the support to projects of innovation stimulation, technological opinion and collective research upon the request of Flemish Innovation Collaboration Associations. The Council deems this positive and stresses that an effort is being made to get as much streamlining as possible within different initiatives with this decision.
The proposed review of the support percentages for collective research and general (sub-regional) innovation stimulation means that approved projects can count on sufficient financing. But the VRWB also points out that this intervention, without an additional budget, increases competition even further and decreases the consequential success rates.
