Technology and innovation in Flanders: Priorities. Process of prioritisation and results

The Flemish Science Policy Council, in cooperation with Incentim K.U.Leuven, carried out an exploratory study on a macro level, through which the VRWB wants to present a road map for Flemish innovation policy and its relation to socio-economic developments. It comprises a total of 30 priorities and 15 constraints identified within 6 clusters.

Cooperation universities, colleges, research institutions, intermediaries and companies

One of the priority themes of the VRWB is the cooperation between knowledge institutions and companies. In order to nurture the debate, the VRWB got a literature study for international comparisons conducted by the research division Incentim of K.U.Leuven, which reviews the situation in that area in a number of reference countries.

Study 15 brings together the staff, graduates and doctorates files of the five large Flemish universities over the period 1991-2002 to a unique database on which a quantitative analysis of the PhD process was conducted.
