For the preparation of its guidance to the Government and to investigate specific issues, the VRWI relies on the support and assistance of three permanent commissions: the Commission on Innovation Policy (CIB), the Commission on Science Policy (CWB) and the Expert Group on Indicators and Budget (EGIB).
The board determines for each committee the composition and appoints the chairman and vice chairman, and for each committee member at the most one deputy. The presidents and vice presidents are members of the council. They are elected by the council among the members of the Executive Board
